October 2007 Update

• TVHF will partner with IS 392 and Tilden Senior Center in Brownsville, Brooklyn and launch Life Stories in November.
• Our Pampering Day For Caregivers was held on 9/9 at Jewel in the Crown Spa www.crownheightsdayspa.com

What’s New with TVHF? : August 2007 Update

• TVHF CEO was interviewed by David Dinkins. The show aired on Saturday 8/11 at 8am on WLIB AM.
• TVHF will be recieiving a grant from the State Education Department, for our Life Stories Program.
• TVHF will be welcoming 3 new board members this fall.
• TVHF was featured on www.thestreet.com in July

What’s New with TVHF? : July 2007 Update

• 7/15 - TVHF volunteers visited the residents of Bishop Hucles Nursing Home in Brooklyn, NY. We also handed out handmade greeting cards, donated by Caring Cards members(www.myspace.com/caringcards).
• TVHF will be receiving a $5,000 reimbursement grant from the NY City Council in September
• Currently, TVHF and Park Slope Geriatric Day Center are writing a joint grant, to bring Life Stories to their Facility in Park Slope, Brooklyn
• We also have new additions to our teams. These include two summer interns, as well as, four new consultants, who will be assisting with program development and grant writing.
• We are also in the developmental stages of the curriculum for our Life Stories Program, which is scheduled to begin in Mid-September
• We will be having our third fundraising event on Sunday, September 9th. It will be a ‘Pampering Day For Cargivers’. Also, made available on that day, will be the Care-giving Workshop for Care-givers. This event will consist of massage treatments, make-up & hair consultations, give aways and much more. Resources will be available for Care-givers to enhance and broaden their interactions and experiences with our elderly.
